Letter from Michael Cole, Producing Artistic Director
Dear Supporters of The Renaissance Project,
Our holiday production of "A Christmas Carol" is being cancelled.
The dimmer system in the building that is owned by Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church … died. The church, which is very supportive of the theatre, regrettably was unable to repair the system in enough time to allow us to move forward with our production. The dimmer system is over 25 years old and requires either a lengthy repair process or replacing of the entire dimmer system.
After reviewing the cost of renting a lighting system, we found it to be not financially prudent on the part of the theatre to move forward with "A Christmas Carol".
Our board has decided to raise the money to purchase our own dimmer system that The Renaissance Project will own. It will cost approximately $5500. It is our goal to order this new system on January 9th and have it fully installed by the end of January … ready for rehearsals for our 2012 season.
Your tax deductible contributions will be directly applied to the purchase of our own dimmer system. Simply click on the "contribute" link above. Make your contributions before December 31st so you can include it in your 2011 taxes.
Our Early spring production to open our 2012 season is none other than … “Harvey”.
Thank you for all your support and for a wonderful 2011!
